What seems fine, so nice, ain’t right It all appears to work but not quite Things look strong and new, when they’re not Underneath and behind it’s full of rot There’s no good good here, no good good There’s no good good here, no good good No good laughs, no good fun No good times, no there’s none There’s no good good here, no good good You can’t trust your eyes, they lie Smiles big and wide, just disguise Illusions and tricks, make believe Camouflage covering so you don’t see There’s no good good here, no good good There’s no good good here, no good good No good laughs, no good fun No good times, no there’s none There’s no good good here, no good good Clear sky tempts you out into the storm Pretty red flowers hide sharp bloody thorns Lush green leaves front the mad hornet’s nest It’s beautiful deception at its best There’s no good good here, no good good There’s no good good here, no good good No good laughs, no good fun No good times, no there’s none There’s no good good here, no good good

She said she knew the way, I was just 16 She flipped me her car keys, then taught me everything Sneaking into bars, palming cards and poker bluffs How to outrun the law while picking her handcuffs Deep sea treasure hunting, laundering gold doubloons Celebrating with good rum under a Caribbean moon Charming both the princess and her mom the queen In our Vegas penthouse, rich from roulette schemes She said “You can’t lay low if you wanna live high You gotta play all your cards before you die It’s boring being safe, can’t stay in one place Got too many demons out there giving chase Now some hands won’t win, some cons go bust We’ll only get so close, it won’t be love There’ll be some regret, some secrets you can’t tell But the party’s good on the road to hell” She found us the best fun, frat house to royal ball New Orleans Mardi Gras, Brazil for Carnival I was her James Bond, martini, caviar Cruising at one-forty, chilling in her black Jaguar We hosted kings and mafia, played golf with Presidents Ran naked with the bulls, sang with Bono and The Edge Walked down that red carpet with Johnny Depp in tow We flew F-16s and rockets as far as they could go She said “You can’t lay low if you wanna live high You gotta play all your cards before you die It’s boring being safe, can’t stay in one place Got too many demons out there giving chase Now some hands won’t win, some cons go bust We’ll only get so close, it won’t be love There’ll be some regret, some secrets you can’t tell But the party’s good on the road to hell” My sister’s boy came to me for advice And I could see adventure in his eyes He was just like me at that age So I sat him down and I gave it to him straight I said “You can’t lay low if you wanna live high You gotta play all your cards before you die It’s boring being safe, don’t stay in one place Got too many demons out there giving chase Now some hands won’t win, some cons go bust You’ll only get so close, you won’t find love There’ll be some regret, some secrets you can’t tell But the party’s good on the road to hell Oh yeah the party’s good on the road to hell” “My girl was good at everything and she knew where that road went But the one thing she couldn’t do was get off before the end So promise me this .. Even if she begs you to stay When you see that last exit, don’t you hesitate When you see that last exit, don’t you hesitate”

That place ain’t home no more After what went down and they slammed the door They wrote my name top of their black list In big print, permanent ink, it can’t be missed And I made enemies that don’t forget I had to get out a town fast I got forced out, can’t go back Now I’m running down some dark lonesome roads Getting farther from good the farther I go Hunted down to hell and back Driven out of bounds, way off track Where demons seduce tortured souls Getting farther from good the farther I go No one looked at the facts Nobody there gave me half a chance My so called friends treated me like crap Talking trash behind my back, I kicked their ass And this whole ugly thing kept breaking bad I had to get out a town fast I got forced out, can’t go back Now I’m running down some dark lonesome roads Getting farther from good the farther I go Hunted down to hell and back Driven out of bounds, way off track Where demons seduce tortured souls Getting farther from good the farther I go For those who want the truth, here’s the real story My best friend embezzled, left clues that it was me Factory closed, town got tense, cop came to take me in He said “confess or I’ll go at your girl” Well the anger in my fists messed up his face I knocked him out and knew I had to get away I needed wheels, stole his car, needed cash, robbed a bar At every step it escalates, police on my tail, forever chased I had to get out a town fast I got forced out, can’t go back Now I’m running down some dark lonesome roads Getting farther from good the farther I go Hunted down to hell and back Driven out of bounds, way off track Where demons seduce tortured souls Getting farther from good the farther I go I had to get out a town fast I got forced out, can’t go back Now I’m running down some dark lonesome roads Getting farther from good the farther I go Hunted down to hell and back Driven out of bounds, way off track Where demons seduce tortured souls Getting farther from good the farther I go

Alone and lost without any plan Wandering loose over bad bad land Everywhere I walk it’s all rock and dust Every town I pass is rubble and rust I got no good place to go No flower field, no scenic road No rest stop, no refuge, no home No good place, no good place to go No good place, no, no, no It’s grey and dim, don’t get any sun Stumble and fall, mark my trail in blood Hard to breathe, I cough, the air thick with dirt Lakes are dry, no swim for soaking my hurt I got no good place to go No forest green, no peaceful cove No rest stop, no refuge, no home No good place, no good place to go No good place to lay my beat-up bones No rest stop, no refuge, no home No good place, no good place to go No good place, no, no, no Hanging on the edge by my last thread of hope Barely holding on to the end of my rope I scale sheer cliffs, climb out of bottomless pits Cross maddening void just to find black abyss I got no good place to go No flower field, no scenic road No rest stop, no refuge, no home No good place, no good place to go No good place to lay my beat-up bones No rest stop, no refuge, no home No good place, no good place to go No good place, no, no, no

about

It's got a ‘good’ theme and four kick-A tracks. There’s rock, blues and Americana, with grit, attitude, slide guitar and some soulful female backing vocals (Morgen La Civita). The songs deal with good and no good from a variety of crazy perspectives. Adventure and trouble come fast, bigger than life. There’s cons and cars, fistfights, fortunes and fun; a teenage boy’s dream woman, a woman to protect and a princess to charm; gold doubloons, handcuffs, embezzlement, lies, disguise, beautiful deception, a best friend who sets him up and Johnny Depp. Marc cheats at cards, steals a police car, sings with Bono and The Edge and plays golf with Presidents. There’s even some philosophy, advice and reflection. And then there’s more. It’s a killer GOOD time and Marc tells it all to you with his gritty Jakob Dylan meets Tom Petty meets Johnny Cash delivery.
